The 36-hour TOEFL iBT® preparation program prepares individuals with strong English to attain their maximum possible score on the TOEFL iBT® by focusing on skills development, test-taking strategies, and completion of a practice test. The program improves students’ skills in answering all types of TOEFL iBT® questions – listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing. TOEFL iBT® instructors tailor content from the program textbook and test-practice software in order to cater to different students’ needs and abilities, helping each student to get the highest score possible.
The program pays special attention to the speaking section by evaluating the students according to the ETS-approved speaking rubric. Students receive instruction and practice in answering varied listening questions, speed-reading comprehension texts, guessing the meaning of vocabulary items from context, analyzing grammatical structures, and answering TOEFL iBT® questions in the allocated time. Sample activities include: examples with explanations, timed readings, timed writing tasks, in-class and self-study exercises, and practice test exercises.
